The “Packaging” of Gov. Palin (per Donny Deutsch at least)

Date September 5, 2008

This started out as a weird segment, but it turned south about a minute in. (Yes, this was on CNBC.)

TV show provides a glimpse of the future??

Date September 4, 2008

No. Not really. But I was reminded of something while watching the Sarah Palin speech yesterday at the RNC. I couldn’t pinpoint what it was at first, but now I know… It was Geena Davis starring in a TV show called “Commander in Chief” where,

In Commander in Chief, MacKenzie Allen (Davis) is thrusted into presidential office after the former President is struck down by a stroke. She faces opposition from many of her fellow Washingtonites, including the Speaker of the House, who reminds Allen that her nomination to the vice presidency was nothing more than a stunt of masterfully crafted political theatre. Her vice presidancy was never intended for presidancy, as evidenced by the former president’s own expressed wishes. Allen goes on to fight against misogyny and patriarchy and prove that she is indeed capable of becoming President and takes the oath of office.

*Just for the record, I wasn’t a fan of the show.

Happy Belated Labor Day

Didn’t have time to post this yesterday, but Matt and I caught a part Discovery’s Labor Day “Dirty Jobs” Marathon. Not that I’ve tried, but I don’t think I can watch the whole clip without screaming (I had to change the channel when it was on TV). If you think your job sucks, check this out. =P

Let’s put a smile on that face…

Holy crap, Batman. Simply put, The Dark Knight was one of the most phenomenal movies, if not the most phenomenal movie, I have ever seen. If you haven’t see it yet, STOP reading this entry, get off your butt, and go enjoy this masterpiece.

I don’t think I’m ready to talk about the movie yet - I need to watch it again to fully digest everything. I’ll post another TDK entry later. =)

Care for some cherries?!?

Date July 21, 2008

Rainier Cherries

We’re getting close to the end of cherry season. I never considered myself a fan of cherries (but yet, I don’t mind it) until a chef at Central Market introduced me to rainier cherries.

I bought a pound on Saturday afternoon and less than 8 hours later, it was all gone. If you ever see it at the market, try it out!! =)
